Tim Murphy is a novelist and journalist whose work, which focuses mostly on HIV/AIDS and LGBTQ issues, has appeared in publications including the New York Times, New York Magazine, Out magazine, the Nation, POZ magazine, and the magazines of the ACLU and Lambda Legal. He is the author of the 1990s novels Getting Off Clean and The Breeders Box under the name Timothy Murphy. His novel Christodora was longlisted for the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction and was a Publishers Weekly Big Indie Book of Fall 2016. His most recent work, Correspondents, has been called "propulsive and engrossing and rooted in the simplest of storytelling points: Empathy can erase prejudice" by Kirkus in a starred review.
