Susan Neiman

Susan Neiman is a philosopher, writer, and the director of the Einstein Forum. She studied philosophy at Harvard and the Freie Universität Berlin and was previously professor of philosophy at Yale and Tel Aviv University. Her works include Slow Fire: Jewish Notes from Berlin, The Unity of Reason: Rereading Kant, Evil in Modern Thought: An Alternative History of Philosophy, Why Grow Up?, and Moral Clarity: A Guide for Grown-up Idealists. Her most recent book, Learning from the Germans: Race and the Memory of Evil, has been called an "exceptional piece of historical and political philosophy [that] provides a meaningful way of looking at the Civil War's legacy" by Publishers Weekly in a starred review.
