Kathryn Bowers is an award-winning science journalist who has taught medical narrative and comparative literature at UCLA. She writes about health, biology, and evolution. Bowers is a Future Tense Fellow at New America in Washington, DC and has worked with James Fallow, the Washington editor of the Atlantic, and for CNN-International in London. Bowers also served as an assistant press attache at the United States Embassy in Moscow, where she was awarded a State Department Meritorious Honor Award. Her latest book is Wildhood: The Epic Journey from Adolescence to Adulthood in Humans and Other Animals, co-authored with Harvard evolutionary biologist Barbara Natterson-Horowitz, which a starred Booklist review dubbed an “incredibly fascinating read.”
