Ben Mezrich

October 19, Copley Square
Ben Mezrich has built his career chronicling young genius. Mezrich can only be called prolific, producing a book for almost every year of his near two-decade writing career. He is perhaps best known for The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal, which was turned into the Oscar-winning film The Social Network, adapted by Aaron Sorkin and directed by David Fincher. Among his other bestselling titles are Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six MIT Students Who Took Vegas for Millions, the novel Seven Wonders, and Woolly: The True Story of the De-Extinction of One of History’s Most Iconic Creatures, which has already been optioned by Fox for development into a film. Mezrich has also turned his storytelling talents toward writing for young people, with the novels Bringing Down the Mouse and its sequel, Charlie Numbers and the Man in the Moon, co-written with his wife Tonya. His most recent book, Bitcoin Billionaires: A True Story of Genius, Betrayal, and Redemption, has, according to Vanity Fair, "all the trappings of a classic adventure: wronged underdogs, party scenes, partners who flip, and, of course, a few villains."
