Annette Gordon-Reed is the Charles Warren Professor of American Legal History at Harvard Law School and a Professor of History in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University. She is the 2009 Pulitzer Prize winner in History for The Hemingses of Monticello: An American Family and the recipient of multiple prestigious fellowships and grants including a National Book Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship in the humanities, and a MacArthur Fellowship. Her latest book is Most Blessed of the Patriarchs: Thomas Jefferson and the Empire of the Imagination, which Kirkus Reviews dubbed “an elegant, astute study that is both readable and thematically rich.”
