Andrew Bacevich

October 19, Copley Square
Andrew Bacevich is a longtime historian and public intellectual. A professor emeritus of history and international relations at Boston University, Bacevich specializes in security studies, American foreign policy, and American diplomatic and military history. His work has appeared in the Atlantic, the Nation, LA Times, the New York Times, and Wall Street Journal, and his books include Breach of Trust, Washington Rules, The Limits of Power, and America’s War for the Greater Middle East. His most recent release, Twilight of the American Century, is a selection of essays critically examining the events of 9/11 and how it has affected the United States through the past decade. As University Bookman claims, Bacevich’s “work provides a glimmer of hope for a return to realist sanity in American foreign policy … Bacevich speaks the truths many Americans, and all their leaders, refuse to face.”
