Alex Marzano-Lesnevich is the author of The Fact of a Body: A Murder and a Memoir, which received a 2018 Lambda Literary Award, the 2018 Chautauqua Prize, the 2019 Elle Grand Prix des Lectrices for Nonfiction, and the 2019 Prix France Inter-JDD, a prize for one book of any genre in the world. It has been translated into nine languages and was named to “best of the year” lists in the US, UK, and Australia. Marzano-Lesnevich’s other work appears in the New York Times, the New York Times Sunday Magazine, Harper’s, and Oxford American, among many other publications, and has been recognized with fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Rona Jaffe Foundation, The Bread Loaf Writers Conference, Yaddo, and MacDowell, among other organizations. They have taught writing at Harvard, Cedar Crest College, and GrubStreet. They now live in Portland, Maine, and are an assistant professor of creative nonfiction writing at Bowdoin College.
