Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook is the current executive director of the Project on Europe and the Transatlantic Relationship. A German and American national, she is also the founding executive director of the Future of Diplomacy Project at the Harvard Kennedy School. Ashbrook is a former international broadcast journalist who, over a ten-year career, covered global affairs—EU politics, business, and economics—in the aftermath of September 11. Today, she provides expert commentary in English, German, and French for various news outlets like NPR, BBC, Al Jazeera, Die Welt, and others on issues such as transatlantic relations, German and US foreign and security policy, radicalization and immigration policy, inequality, and urban development.
